Today marks the 24th anniversary of September 11, 2001—one of the most defining and difficult days in our nation’s history.
On that morning, thousands of lives were tragically lost, and countless families were forever changed. We remember not only the victims, but also the bravery of the first responders, service members, and ordinary citizens who risked everything to save others. Their courage is a testament to the resilience and spirit of the American people.
As we reflect on this day, we are reminded that the values we hold most dear—justice, fairness, and unity—shine brightest when we come together during times of hardship. September 11th showed us that in the face of unimaginable tragedy, communities can rise, heal, and stand strong.
For Baton Rouge, for Louisiana, and for our nation, this day serves as a solemn reminder: we must never forget the lives lost, the sacrifices made, and the responsibility we share to build a safer, more compassionate future.
May we honor their memory not only with words, but with actions that uplift our neighbors and strengthen the bonds that hold us together.
We will never forget.
