Baton Rouge, LA — August 16, 2025
Community spirit was alive and well in Baton Rouge this weekend as Elzie Alford Jr., candidate for 19th Judicial District Court Judge, rolled up his sleeves and joined local volunteers to serve hundreds of residents during The Big Give Back, hosted by The Outside Boys Food Trap.
The event, held at 13501 Florida Boulevard, marked the fourth anniversary of the local restaurant’s commitment to feeding the community and was an opportunity to celebrate Baton Rouge’s “boil meat restaurant champs.” Families and individuals from across the city came together to enjoy free plates of turkey legs, BBQ, sausage, hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni, and more.
Alford, who is running on a platform of fairness, integrity, and community connection, didn’t just show up—he worked alongside volunteers, helping prepare and serve meals under the tents in the Louisiana summer heat. His campaign slogan, “Firm. Fair. Focused on Justice,” came to life as he demonstrated his belief that leadership begins with service.
“This community has always supported me, and I believe it’s my responsibility to support them right back,” Alford said while serving food. “Events like this show that when we come together, we can make sure no one is left out—whether that’s at the dinner table or in the courtroom.”
Attendees were excited to see a judicial candidate stepping directly into service, not just as a leader, but as a neighbor. Many noted that Alford’s presence and hands-on approach set him apart from the typical political figure.
Organizers emphasized that the event wasn’t just about food but about unity, gratitude, and investing in the people who make Baton Rouge strong.
As Election Day approaches on October 11, 2025, Alford continues to highlight his commitment to serving the people—inside and outside of the courtroom.
